James & Christy

The James & Christy Moore Fam began on February 14, 2009...

We were married in the Salt Lake City Temple for eternity on a very snowy and freezing day. But we were so excited and nervous to start our adventure together that we didn't notice our "camera-perfect" bright red noses... (naturally, I did later when I saw some of the horrific pictures of me. Fortunately, the photographer was great with touch-ups.)

Before:
We met each other on a blind date in November 2008. Thanks to a dear friend of mine -- who met him on a date and thought to herself: "This guy is a lot like Christy. They have to meet each other."

And it's true.
We are both passionate people. He lived in Missouri and comes from a heritage of southern preacher/bootleggers. I lived in Georgia for a very short time but still occasionally have to resist the urge to say "Amen sister" during Church meetings.

The only reason we don't fight (as most passionate people would) is because of James. He is such a sweetheart. He melts me. Yep. Love, humility, and an open heart win every time. Best weapons of all.

We love missionary work. We love our sweet brother and Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Everything good in our marriage and life has come from the sweet forgiving and enabling power of Christ's Atonement.

Our second date, he took me to his favorite Chinese restaurant. It was apparantely where he often took his dates. While there, one of the waitresses, smiled mischieviously at James and said to me, "Xiao Xin, Xiao Xin." (James at this point, was gritting his teeth at her and pleading "Nooo"). I said, "What?" She said in a Chinese accent, "Be Caiful (careful). This guy takes 5 girls every week to this place."
I turned to James. "Oh Really???" (in my mind, I was thinking. Oooh. Maybe he is one of those smooth talking boys...)
But he calmed my fears by reassuring me, "I was just trying to find you."
Close call...!
And from that date on ... he begged and begged me to marry him. After years and years, I finally said Yes. Just Kidding. He had my heart from day 1. (Naturally, I didn't let him on to that...). Not long after, my mom and aunt Cookie began planning the wedding details. April, my twin sis made everything exciting and memorable:) My cousin let me borrow her gorgeous dress. I did my own hair. And I will never forget that day. Married my best friend.

A little later:
Fastforward through us moving to California due to James' job with Sunrider, me continuing going to lawschool while pregnant and being the Apartment manager over 19 apartments, pulling my hair out, loving our Hindu and Muslim neighbors--who would constantly give us tastes of their delicious food, loving the fun-loving and down-to-earth sisters in the LDS ward, giving birth to darling/not-sleeping baby Joy (5 days after graduating from lawschool...perfect timing!), losing my hair, taking the bar, severely injuring my neck during the bar, & passing several days before James' job moved us out to ASIA. (Don't worry, the stewardesses took care of Joy during that 14 hour plane ride while I sat there with a neck brace).
A lot to cram in to less than 2 years...

Now:
And now you will find us in TAIWAN!!!
Happy. Alive. Sometimes barely. Enjoying life & the Adventure...
Making life an adventure for James.
Maybe it is because I am pregnant again...Yeah, let's blame the pregnancy...because there are those days...
But on the bright side--he gets to learn patience and a whole slew of other Christlike attributes thanks to me. haha.
I love my hubby and he somehow loves me.
And I love my second new BFF--Joy...who has more spunk and energy than anyone I have ever met.
