Joy is saying all sorts of words and motions:
"Bu Yao" (I don't want) is her favorite
"Xie zi" (shoes) is her next
"More" (with sign language motion)
"Yige" (one) she is always trying to convince me to give her just "one more"
"Eyes"
"Eyes"
"Chu" (go)
"Go"
Sssshh
"bird"
"go go" (dog)
"bear"
"ma" (horse)
"mao" (cat)
"ji" (chicken)--in the outside market behind us, there are a lot of live chickens--if you want a chicken to eat--they kill it, pluck it, and give it to you.
"Shui jiao" (sleep)
"Jesus"
"Bye"
"Xie xie" (thanks)
"ge ge" and "mei mei" and "di di" (big brother, sister, little brother)
Ai" (aunt)
poo poo
pee pee (she tells us when she is going...I am trying to get her aware so she can quickly transition into no diapers!!! what an expense!!!)
She is very coordinated for a 1 1/2 years old. The Taiwanese are constantly scared to death...
when they see her hanging by the hand grips in the metro...or getting up on the sea horse at the playground all by herself...or climbing up and down tough stairs, walls, slides..by herself.
She loves to tease. She spits out food and then laughs at herself, or runs inside with her shoes on to the farthest corner in the apartment....knowing that it is not right. (The streets in Taiwan are filthy..no one allows shoes in apartments here--for good reason.) But she smiles mischiviously and laughs. How can I get too mad???
She also has a bit of a temper-which we are trying to cool down a bit. Like right now for instance--because I am on the computer-she is pounding her fists on the bed and stomping and shouting. Fortunately, time-out works for her. And now when she screams--she says "Go" and points to the room.
